About Dr. Steven
A Life Spent Learning How People Heal
Born in Miami Beach, Steven Roth began where most transformational careers do not: in
clinical medicine. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of
Florida, where he first studied the biology of stress in living systems, he received his
Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1989 and built
a thriving practice in the heart of downtown Miami.
He named it Relax and Smile, and he meant it. His governing philosophy was that every
patient should leave feeling better, physically and mentally, than when they arrived. Over
three decades of practice he became an award-winning clinician, recognized repeatedly by
the Consumer Research Council of America for excellence in his field. But it was his
patients' fear, not their treatment, that changed the direction of his life.
Searching for a way to help patients paralyzed by anxiety, Dr. Roth trained in clinical
hypnosis, studying under the renowned hypnotherapist Dick Sutphen. What began as a tool for
calming nerves became a revelation: he was eventually performing full clinical procedures
using hypnosis alone, no anesthesia required. The subconscious mind, he realized, was the
most under-used instrument in medicine. He went on to earn his certification as a clinical
hypnotherapist and NLP Master, followed by dozens of advanced certifications in
subconscious and mind-body modalities, and opened his hypnotherapy practice to help people
far beyond the clinic: those living with anxiety, depression, addiction, chronic pain,
and infertility.
Family has always sat at the center of the work. Dr. Roth supports individuals, couples,
and families through their most difficult seasons, and his commitment to service extends
into the community: in honor of his father, a decorated World War II Marine, he founded
Operation Freedom Smiles, providing free clinical care to military veterans, an initiative
covered by Miami's Community Newspapers and built to inspire practitioners nationwide.
In 2023, Dr. Roth traveled to Mitzpe Ramon, Israel, to earn his certification in Ketamine
Assisted Psychotherapy under Dr. Phil Wolfson, the creator of KAP. Recognizing that
ketamine's open, trance-like states mirror those found in deep hypnosis, he developed
H.A.K.T., Hypnosis Assisted Ketamine Therapy, and now partners with ketamine clinics and
psychiatrists to improve patient outcomes. His clinical framework, The G.I.F.T., Guided
Imagination for Transformation, weaves hypnosis, NLP, neurobiology, timeline work, and
forgiveness therapy into a single method for moving people from survival states into
elevated ones.
Today, Dr. Roth divides his time between Miami and Costa Rica, speaking internationally,
presenting his clinical work to medical audiences, guiding private clients around the
world, and writing his forthcoming book on the subconscious mind and transformation. His
mission has never changed since his first day in practice: every person he works with
should leave feeling better than when they arrived.
